The U.S. added 93,000 private sector jobs in November -- the largest gain in three years, according to seasonally adjusted estimates in Automatic Data Processing Inc.'s (NYSE: ADP) monthly employment report released today. In addition, October's estimated increase in jobs was raised to 82,000 from 43,000. An acceleration in employment is taking place, ADP reported. Still, "employment gains of this magnitude are not sufficient to lower the unemployment rate, which likely will remain above 9% for all of 2011," according to the report. The service sector added 79,000 jobs in November, and the manufacturing sector gained 14,000. ADP's report is derived from an anonymous subset of U.S. business clients. |
